Our company uses survey grade GPS equipment. We also have the ability to combine our GPS data with digital aerial photography. A GPS as-built is imperative to make smart water conservation decisions.
In addition the maps are a resource that can help you with future golf course renovations and changes. Depending on the size of the course GPS mapping can take anywhere from between 4-8 days onsite where we GPS every data point which includes: Sprinklers, Valves, Satellites, Bunkers, Fairways, Cart-paths, Tee's, Greens, and Landscaping features.

GPS Mapping
With a GPS of the irrigation system and the turf features of your golf course, you will be provided with a complete inventory of the irrigation system sprinklers, quantities and arcs. Some other benefits include;
PERMANENT ELECTRONIC
DATABASE & AS-BUILT
Golf course will have an electronic & changeable database of your entire sprinkler system and all of the features including; greens, tees, fairways, lakes and bunkers.
PERSONNEL IS BETTER PREPARED
The electronic maps can be downsized and laminated to fit into your controllers where station identification is made legible via the map. Irrigation personnel can have a waterproof laminated copy to carry around the course for quick reference.
WATER CONSERVATION IS VISUALIZED & MEASURABLE
With GPS data you have the ability to see spacing and nozzle selection prior to making sprinkler changes. You can overlay the As-Built on an aerial photograph and visually see what irrigation changes can do for your course. In addition, if water reduction and rationing is an important goal, you are better prepared to see where changes can be made. You will also have the benefit of visualizing what changing turf lines will have with regards to golfer playability.
REFERENCE MAPS FOR PROJECT PLANNING
Staff will have an accurate paper based As-Built to use as reference in the office and in the field when identifying problems or projects. Labor is used more efficiently.
ACCURATE SQUARE FOOTAGE
(Optional) The features such as greens, tees and fairways will be accurately measured. This provides the benefit of knowing precise square footages when it comes time to ordering fertilizers, seed or pesticides. This can aid in budgeting and reduce expenses. In addition any future course feature changes can be more easily changed by having the precise layout and square footage.
MAP IS USER FRIENDLY & UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE
(Optional) With the GPS data you have the option of converting your database for use with the Toro T.Map or Rain Bird map. It can also be loaded onto an Ipad for use in the field for operating the irrigation system.
Who uses our GPS / GIS services?
CONTRACTORS
We work with golf course contractors on new and renovation projects to collect data for their installation of irrigation and drainage systems. Contractors also use us to layout the architects routing for new courses and produce construction quantities for billing purposes.
ARCHITECTS
Architects use our services to create base maps with topography information for new and existing courses. We also provide final maps to architects so that they can create a course rendering. We can also provide final yardages of the course and sprinkler heads.
SUPERINTENDENTS
We work with superintendents to map their course for square footages that can be used to order material. Others have used our services for tree inventory and yardages for sprinklers. We can create a map of their irrigation and drainage systems. As a cost saving measure some have used us to assist them in collecting their own data.
